You may not know it yet, but this is a classic breakfast. When I was young, my dad would make these – he called them “Guy Gibby eggs”… don’t ask why – I honestly have no idea!

Egg-in-a-hole is simple: cut a circle in a slice of bread – wholemeal, to keep it healthy – and fry it with an egg placed in the hole.

You can use butter or olive oil – butter will taste yummier but olive oil keeps the recipe on the healthier side.

This is a super easy and fun recipe. The novelty factor of an egg within the slice of toast – and the satisfaction of popping the yolk – will delight the kids.

  1. Green Monster Smoothie

This is a smoothie made from frozen bananas, milk, spinach, and orange juice. There is no added sugar needed thanks to the fruit. 

Whizzing it all up in the blender is a matter of seconds.

Dress up the cup to make it look like a monster for the fun factor – particular as Halloween is coming up! ?

Using very ripe, frozen bananas is key for a sweet taste and smooth texture. Your little ones won’t even know the spinach is in there.

A great brekkie but also a fun snack for any time of day.

They are simple to make, containing just applesauce, maple syrup, eggs, wholewheat flour, oil, and, of course, bananas! The riper, the better.
